On Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of UnitedHealthcare, Peter J. Pronovost, was shot and killed in Midtown Manhattan.
At approximately 11:30 am EST, Pronovost was walking to work near 60th Street and Madison Avenue when he was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant. Witnesses reported hearing several gunshots and then seeing a man running away.
Pronovost was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
