The top four teams in the CFP rankings will make the College Football Playoff. The semifinals will be played on December 31st, with the championship game following on January 9th:

Clemson will need to win their ACC Championship game against the North Carolina Tar Heels to have any chance of making the CFP. Even if they win, they will likely need some help from other teams ahead of them in the rankings. The Tigers have a talented team, but they will need to play their best football down the stretch to have a shot at the College Football Playoff.
In addition to Clemson, there are several other teams that are in contention for a New Year’s Six bowl game. The Tennessee Volunteers, USC Trojans, and Kansas State Wildcats are all ranked in the top 10 and have a chance to make a run in the postseason. The Washington Huskies and Utah Utes are also in the mix for a New Year’s Six bowl.
The College Football Playoff picture is starting to take shape, and there are still several teams that are in contention. Clemson’s loss to South Carolina has made their path to the CFP more difficult, but they are still in the running. The Tigers will need to win their ACC Championship game and get some help from other teams in order to make the CFP. The New Year’s Six bowl games are also up for grabs, and there are several teams that are in contention.
